There are a total of 14 pathways through which you can move to Canada. They are as follows:
- Express Entry
Application for qualified immigrants (Skilled Workers) wanting to live and participate in our economy permanently in Canada.
- Family Sponsorship
If you’re at least 18 years old and meet the following criteria, you can sponsor specific relatives to come to Canada.
- Citizens of Canada or
- A person registered as an Indian in Canada pursuant to the Canadian Indian Act or
- Canada’s permanent residents
If your relatives become permanent residents of Canada, they will be able to live, study, and work there.
Family members, including spouses, partners, children, parents, grandparents, and others *
- Provisional Nominees (PNP)
If you have applied for PNP and you are invited by that particular province or territory you can go for this pathway. Or if you directly apply for PNP for a particular province and you get an invite. P.S – It is easier the express entry pathway.

- Quebec-Selected Skilled Workers
Quebec has its own separate pathway for the skilled worker who will fit in nicely to live in Quebec and become a permanent resident of Canada. With the Government of Canada, Quebec has a special immigration arrangement.
- Atlantic Immigration Pilot
The pilot, which began in 2017, assists Atlantic Canadian companies in hiring foreign skilled employees who wish to come to the province and international graduates who want to work and live in one of Canada’s 4 Atlantic Provinces:
- New Brunswick
- Prince Edward Island
- Nova Scotia
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Caregivers
You can become a permanent resident or work temporarily as a live-in caregiver by providing care for children, elderly people, or those with medical needs.
- Start-up Visa
This pathway is for immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to establish enterprises in Canada that can create jobs for locals and are capable of competing on a global scale.
Do you have an innovative business plan? If one of the designated organizations supports your proposal, you may be eligible for Canada’s permanent residency.
- Self Employed
If you want to apply for this pathway, you must have relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics, as well as be willing and able to make a major contribution to Canada’s cultural or athletic life.
- Rural and North and Immigration Pilot
The pathway is a community-driven program. It is intended to extend the advantages of economic immigration to smaller towns by establishing a path to permanent residency for talented foreign workers who wish to work and live in one of the participating communities.
- Agri-Food Pilot
The Agri-Food Pilot contributes to meeting the labour demands of the Canadian agri-food sector. For experienced, non-seasonal employees in particular sectors and professions, the pilot program offers a road to permanent residency. It will be in effect until May 2023.
- Health – Care Workers Permanent Residence Pathway
During the COVID-19 epidemic, a special application method for refugee claimants working in the healthcare industry allowed them to immigrate.
- Temporary Resident To Permanent Resident Pathway
This pathway is a limited-time route to permanent residency. It is for certain temporary residents who work and live in Canada at present with/without their families.
If you have work experience in Canada in an essential occupation, health, or health service area or you have just graduated from a post-secondary Canadian institution, you might be eligible for permanent residency.
- Refugees

- Permanent Residence Pathways For Hong Kong Residents
This provisional governmental policy grants permanent residency for qualifying candidates and their families for residents who are currently in Canada.
You might be qualified for two streams. Under one of the following, you can apply for permanent residence:
Stream A: Graduates from Canada.
Stream B: job experience in Canada
This policy will apply from 1 June 2021 through 31 August 2026.
